It's hydromatic!

The new Toyota Prius isn't exactly Greased Lightning but look what came with the press kit for the latest petrol-electric hybrid car – a clock that runs on water!

Pop the silver rubberised lid to fill the thang with H2O and it's set. Okay, you do have to set the time before it's like "set" set, if you get my drivel.

The instruction manual also says that you can "optimise the performance (of the clock) by just adding some natural seasoning from your kitchen!"

The seasoning suggested includes, vinegar (5-10 drops), lemonade (squeeze half a lemon) and red wine (3-5 spoons).

Pleased with the new toy, I went on to show it around the office. Now our inquisitive minds are wondering if the clock will also run on beer, vodka or the mee soto soup that the canteen serves during breakfast… the Encik does tout his noodles to be "very power!"

Don't watch this space. Now back to work.

Came back to the office this morning and what do I find? The hydro-clock is dead. The water is still in the thing but the display is fading. It seems that the H2O just went "out of juice". So it was off to the pantry to fill the thing up with fresh tap water. Regular service resumes.
