It's that time of the year again when the iconic Super GT from Japan makes its annual appearance at the Sepang International Circuit.
Scheduled for the weekend of 20 and 21 June, this super-exciting race series made its first visit to Malaysia back in 2000.
Famed for its super-modified and colouful racecars - and its gorgeous race queens, it is a hit with the hundreds (even thousands) of Singaporeans who visit the race every year.
The racecars are divided into two main categories - GT300 and GT500 - the numbers referring to the maximum power outputs allowable. And what an assortment of cars there are!
Nissan GT-R
Honda NSX
Lexus SC430
Subaru Impreza WRX
Nissan 350Z
Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Ferrari F430
BMW Z4 M Coupe
And a very unique car - the Toyota Corolla Axio.
Not this one - this is the boring roadcar version.
But this one and yes, your eyes do not deceive you, it is an Axio and it is fielded by Team apr.
Powered by a detuned version of the engine found in the Lexus IS350, it shows off the expertise of Japanese tuners.
