Prevention is better than cure, but the 30 participants at 2010’s first Breakfast With Torque might have found something better – putting their cars through a preventive five-point check while feeding their stomachs and getting some practical car maintenance tips along the way. Call it “prevention + food + knowledge”, if you will.
Quick Lane, by multi-brand dealership Vantage Automotive, was the ideal location for the occasion, although there were questions on whether the new service arm actually knows about cars other than Fords and Peugeots(Vantage Automotive holds the local franchise for the two European brands).
The guys apparently do. Once the participants arrived, Quick Lane’s technicians set off to perform various mechanical checks, from the condition of the braking system to the airconditioning. At the end of the session, Quick Lane generated a report on the findings, which its staff then explained to the individual owners.
While all this was going on, our readers relaxed in the lounge, enjoying the buffet, coffee and company. Experts from various vehicular fields took the opportunity to share useful information with the participants.
