The photoshoot for the 2017 Opel Calendar picks up where the successful productions of the last years left off – superstar Bryan Adams photographed the Opel Adam and designer icon Karl Lagerfeld immortalised his famous Birman cat Choupette with the Opel Corsa.
Now, after “Corsa Karl and Choupette”, comes “Opel Wonderland of Dreams”. That is the name of the new project in which star photographer Ellen von Unwerth takes us on a journey through the seasons with the most stunning Opel models from yesterday, today and tomorrow.
They share the stage at the photoshoot in the Babelsberg film studio with supermodel Georgia May Jagger (daughter of Rolling Stone Mick Jagger and top model Jerry Hall), as well as “Grumpy Cat”, the world’s most famous and popular cat.
Georgia May Jagger, who has already caused a sensation in campaigns for H&M and Thomas Sabo with her unique allure, is captured in a dreamy and mystical setting. For Jagger, the 2017 Opel Calendar means again working with German star photographer and ex-model Ellen von Unwerth, known for her sometimes cool yet intensive and captivating style.
Von Unwerth sets off on the journey through seasons and an array of subjects, all the while harmoniously integrating Opel vehicles as well as animal and human models.
“Grumpy Cat“, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, is an Internet star. This is the first time the cat with the grumpy facial expression will be in a European automaker’s campaign.
The American feline from Arizona is well-known to the global web audience. In addition to her Facebook page with 8.7 million likes, she also stars in various YouTube videos and has also managed to get her own animatronic waxwork at Madame Tussauds.
