Toyota has started selling the classic Land Cruiser 70 again, a decade after the last units were sold in domestic dealerships. The unusual move is a response to numerous requests from customers (who will buy 200 units per month during the one-year special sale period, says Toyota) and it also commemorates the 30th anniversary of “Land Cruiser”, the longest-running nameplate in Toyota’s model history. Re-released for 2014, the heavy-duty, ladder-frame vehicle has a 4-litre V6 engine, a 5-speed manual gearbox, a selectable four-wheel-drive system and all of the old-school Land Cruiser’s legendary robustness.
