My love for cars started at a very young age – 7, which was a lo-o-o-ng time ago. But it was not until 1992 that I finally saved up enough money to buy my first car, a nine-year-old Nissan Pulsar 1.0 DX. It was possibly the slowest 1-litre hatchback available, because it was one of the largest and heaviest.After I bought the car, I went to get my first-ever mod accessory for it – a used set of 15-inch alloy wheels. My Pulsar looked great on those wheels, although I remember my wife saying otherwise.
From that day on, every car I’ve ever owned was never left in stock condition. I would add every bolt-on performance part that was suitable for the vehicle. My Civic Si, for instance, went through three sets of wheels, two sets of coilovers, two engines, two race-ready bucket seats and a storeroom full of spare parts.
