Goodyear Singapore launched four new tyres today from the Eagle F1 range.
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 5
The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 is the successor to the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. It is an ultra high-performance tyre meant for a wide range of vehicles.
Apart from promising superior grip in dry conditions, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 supposedly delivers better braking performance in rainy conditions, too.
Its key features are its Impulse Control Compound, Power Cushion and ActiveBraking technologies.
Impulse Control Compound has an “extra silica load” for shorter braking distances, while Power Cushion has a stiffer coupling between the tread and tyre carcass.
ActiveBraking increases the tyre contact patch during braking, which also helps shorten stopping distances.
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 SUPERSPORT
The Eagle F1 Supersport belongs in Goodyear’s flagship tyre range.
Its key features are Dual Plus, Powerline Cover, Power Shoulder and HighForce Construction technologies.
Dual Plus technology has specialised “power zones” for enhanced performance on wet and dry roads.
Powerline Cover includes a tread deformation protector preserve the footprint (contact patch) for high-speed stability.
Power Shoulder features a closed outside pattern for better dry performance and cornering.
HighForce Construction delivers a super stiff sidewall design for improved handing and stability.
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 SUPERSPORT R
The Eagle F1 SuperSport R further increases grip levels and steering precision on and off track. The tyre features a high-friction compound that provides exceptional dry grip levels.
Meanwhile, excellent cornering stability is ensured by bridges in the tread pattern’s inner groove. This reduces the deformation of tread blocks under extreme cornering forces.
Steering precision and feedback have also been further enhanced by optimising the tyre’s footprint for more consistent pressure distribution.
EAGLE F1 SUPERSPORT RS
The Eagle F1 Supersport RS, with its semi-slick tread pattern, is Goodyear’s most race-focussed tyre.
It is designed for owners who want a track day tyre that’s also road-legal.
The Supersport RS features a specialised racing-originated compound, which Goodyear claims “provides ultimate grip and performance levels in dry conditions.”
