Chinese luxury brand Hongqi (which means “Red Flag”) is set to make its debut in Singapore in the first half of 2026.
The brand, owned by FAW Group, is the oldest carmaker in China. It is known for producing limousines that were once only used by high-ranking government officials.
Multi-brand distributor Eurokars Group has been appointed as the marque’s distributor in Singapore.
Eurokars Group, which was founded by motor-tycoon Karsono Kwee in 1985, also holds franchises that include Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, BMW, McLaren, Mazda, MG, and Pagani. Mr Kwee is its executive chairman.
Mr. Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group, commented, “As Eurokars Group celebrates four decades of driving luxury experiences, we are delighted to welcome Hongqi to our family. With our extensive experience representing esteemed automotive brands, our conviction in sustainable mobility, and a customer-focused approach rooted in genuine passion, we are confident in our ability to cultivate and grow the Hongqi brand in Singapore.”
The E-HS9, a full-size electric SUV, will be one of the first models launched in Singapore. It will be followed by the G117 and E007, which are mid-size SUVs.
Hongqi’s showroom will be located at 19 Leng Kee Road. The premises are currently occupied by MG, but Torque understands that it will eventually move to 11 Leng Kee Road.
