Maserati has unveiled its latest sports car, MCPURA, which is an evolution of the iconic MC20. The brand says the new model embodies pure performance, luxury and passion – core elements of Maserati’s DNA.
The MCPURA promises to showcase groundbreaking innovations while staying true to Maserati’s signature blend of artisanship and engineering. The car will be available in both coupe and convertible (Cielo) versions, with the latter featuring a revolutionary retractable glass roof that transforms from opaque to transparent in just one second.
Powering the MCPURA is Maserati’s renowned V6 Nettuno engine that delivers 630hp and 720Nm of torque. Weighing 1475kg, it has a power to weight ratio of 427.1hp per tonne. The car sprints from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed that exceeds 325km/h.
The interior has been reimagined with a focus on luxury and performance. Premium Alcantara dominates the cabin, covering everything from the seats to the newly designed GT2-inspired steering wheel. This material choice enhances grip, reduces weight, and provides superior durability compared to traditional leather.
Aerodynamics played a crucial role in the MCPURA’s development, with over 2000 hours spent in wind tunnel testing. The car features an innovative split design – an elegant upper portion and a technical lower section. A carbon fibre monocoque chassis, developed in partnership with Dallara, optimises structural integrity for both coupe and convertible variants.
The MCPURA comes equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the latest Maserati Intelligent Assistant system running on Android Automotive. Dual 10.25-inch displays provide essential information while maintaining a clean, driver-focused cockpit design.
True to Maserati’s heritage, the MCPURA is 100% made in Modena, from development through production. The new Officine Maserati Fuoriserie facility offers extensive customisation options, allowing buyers to create their perfect expression of Italian automotive excellence.
