RIMOWA x Porsche Hand-Carry Case Pepita.
Petrolheads looking to finally head overseas for that long-awaited holiday may now have just the luggage piece to accompany them: the RIMOWA x Porsche Hand-Carry Case Pepita.
The product of a collaboration between the famed sports car manufacturer and well-known luggage-maker pays homage to both brands’ iconic design elements.
The RIMOWA case is inspired by the first-generation 911. Elements such as the high-gloss details hark back to the silver mirror finishing of the car, while the leather straps are a nod to the traditional bonnet straps found in classic automobiles. A Porsche crest adorns the case.
The luggage itself, of course, is made from RIMOWA’s signature grooved aluminium, and features TSA-approved locks.
Inside, travellers will the find the case lined with Houndstooth Pepita fabric, black leather accents and a yellow instruction label similar to the one found in a Porsche’s boot.
Keeping clothes and belongings secure is an X-strap, which is purposely designed to resemble a seat belt. Loose items, such as toiletry pouches, can be placed in the zipped U-pocket for convenience.
In a nod to the Porsche 911, the sports car manufacturer’s most iconic model, only 911 pieces of the Hand-Carry Case Pepita will be made.
Travellers who wish to complement their case can purchase the RIMOWA x Porsche Pepita sticker set, a trio of retro stickers.
Given the limited production, the case is going to be pricey. But for enthusiasts and fans of both brands who have been itching to travel (and do it in style), it will probably be worth considering.
The limited-edition Hand-Carry Case Pepita and sticker set will be available from 21 April 2022 onwards at select RIMOWA boutiques. It will, however, be retailed across Porsche’s global dealer network and online at shop.porsche.com.
