TUMI has launched a new travel and luggage collection that was designed and developed in collaboration with McLaren, the British supercar manufacturer, and Formula 1 Team.
TUMI and McLaren agreed to work together in 2019. Since then, TUMI’s Creative Director Victor Sanz and McLaren’s Supercar Design Director have created a nine-piece capsule collection “designed to uncomplicate, while elevating all aspects of life on the move.”
TUMI’S “FAST TRAVEL” RANGE
Every item in the collection has elements from McLaren’s supercars and racecars. They are also highlighted with McLaren’s Papaya colourway and feature CCX6® carbon fibre accents.
Key pieces include the Aero International Expandable 4 Wheel Carry-On ($2690) and the Quantum Duffel ($1890).
The hybrid materials used to craft the former include Tegris®, a durable thermoplastic composite found in racecars. Inside, the compression strap is inspired by six-point racing harnesses, which are not only used in racing, but also in cars such as the McLaren Senna GTR.
The TUMI Aero International Expandable can be complemented with the Trace Expandable Organizer ($590), Teron Travel Kit ($490) and Orbit Small Packing Cube ($230). These pieces help the traveller keep his or her belongings protected and organised.
Meanwhile, the Velocity Backpack ($1650) caters to road warriors with its padded laptop compartment and USB port. TUMI’s “Add-a-Bag” sleeve, which lets users slide the bag into their wheeled luggage handle, makes it easier to carry.
Upon reaching your destination, the collection offers travellers the Torque Sling ($850) and Lumin Utility Pouch ($690), which are also ideal for light-carry requirements.
