If you’ve ever wanted to drive a luxury vehicle but don’t want to be actually saddled with one, check out Access by BMW.
It’s a new monthly subscription service that gives you access to a fleet of BMWs that are under a year old.
This follows FLOW by BMW which has an 18-month rental term.
Singapore is the first market in Asia and the second globally to get this service.
BMW Financial Services Singapore and Sime Darby Services – part of Sime Darby Motors – are jointly introducing the programme.
The demand for service-related offerings “is increasing”, said BMW Financial Services Asia Pacific regional chief executive Ritu Chandy.
“Singapore is the perfect market to introduce Access by BMW given its reputation as an innovation hub with tech-savvy consumers who will embrace a mobility service to fit their lifestyle needs,” Ms Chandy added.
How do I sign up for Access by BMW?
If you want to sign up for this scheme, visit the Access by BMW website to view the available models and prices.
When you’ve chosen your desired BMW, create an account and choose either a one-month or three-month plan.
You’ll need to provide pictures of your identity card, as well as driver’s licence and credit card details. This information will then be verified by the Access by BMW customer service.
Payment can be done online via credit card and you can keep track of past and upcoming subscriptions via your Access by BMW web account.
What should I take note of if I want to sign up for this scheme?
Note that your subscription period (one month or three months) will be automatically renewed in the system until the end of the vehicle availability, or upon cancellation of the subscription, so keep track of when your plan ends!
Once your account and choice of car are confirmed, the car will be delivered to you within two days of availability.
If you want to switch vehicles, you can do so seven days before your current contract runs out, to avoid getting your current vehicle renewed.
There are no other fees you need to pay for aside from the fuel you use. Everything else is included in your subscription plan.
Note the insurance coverage below:
- Excess for drivers above 23 years of age: $3,000
- Excess for drivers below 23 years of age or have less than 2 years of driving experience: $8,000
- Public liability coverage: $1,000,000
If you want to let someone else drive the vehicle, just call the customer hotline and let them know.
